Alison’s wish was to visit Queen’s Beach at Scarborough with her children
On Wednesday 8th February, with the sun shining and a cool sea breeze, it really was the perfect day for a beachside wish. With Alison, son Josh, daughters Eden and Jessica, and Missy on hand for much-welcomed cuddles, our Ambulance Wish team left the family to enjoy their time together. As shoes were removed and toes wiggled in the sun, out came a picnic basket packed with goodies as the family shared food, laughter and took photos, clearly relaxed in each other’s company.
It was a perfect Queensland summer’s day for Alison, watching Missy paddle in the waters whilst enjoying a summer day favourite of fish and chips by the sea with her children. Alison’s smile was clear to see by everyone involved.
Thank you to our wonderful wish team Bethany, Emilia and Ashley for fulling this last wish and creating memories forever.
Thank you to Metro North Health – Redcliffe Hospital Palliative Care Service for partnering with us on this special occasion to fulfil their first wish and Nathan Hughes Photography for their support.
Ambulance Wish Queensland is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, and we thank the staff and volunteers at both Queensland Health and Queensland Ambulance Service who help our Palliative Care Queensland team to fulfil wishes and create memories.
We would also like to thank our SEQ Hub Local Supporting partner GQS (https://gqs.com.au/) for their support of Ambulance Wish Queensland’s South-East Queensland hub.
