What does Palliative Care mean to you?
Good palliative care means making a difference at the end of someone’s life. It involves the prevention and relief of suffering through listening to stories, open conversations, symptom relief and comfort.
Why did you choose to volunteer with Ambulance Wish Queensland?
I am employed as a Clinical Nurse on a palliative care ward in my day to day position. Being involved in Ambulance Wish Queensland gives me the opportunity to bring my skills and be involved in helping special moments happen.
How do you see Ambulance Wish Queensland in the community?
Ambulance Wish Queensland opens up difficult conversations about end of life. It invites a celebration of what matters most to people.
How do you see Ambulance Wish Queensland impacting Wish Recipient’s and their friends and family?
Ambulance Wish Queensland provides a circuit breaker in what can be a challenging and sad time. It allows special memories to be created for loved ones left behind.
