Ross’ Wish Was to Have His Mum Visit Him at His Home

There is no place more comforting than home-sweet-home and this was the case for Ross and his wish to transport his elderly mother, Eileen, to his home to enjoy a treasured day together with family.

It was a moment to remember as mother and son were reunited, since they had not been able to embrace for 9 months due to the need for specialist transport to see each other. It was a real pleasure for Ambulance Wish Queensland to arrange this heartwarming family reunion.

Ross and Eileen, together with Krystal, Kelleigh, Mason and Abigail, four of his six children who were able to attend, along with his grandson Elijah and sister Nita, filled the house with their love. Kees, the Wish Bear became a firm favourite with young Elijah, as he stole many moments hugging the new friend. Eileen was also delighted to meet Minx, Ross’ Ragdoll kitten, who has become his close companion. The happiness and smiles were contagious as the family conversed at length, soaking up every moment together.

Thank you to Jane, Emma, Jessica and Mark who helped fulfilled Ross’ Wish, and to Metro North Health Community Palliative Care and NHughes Photography for their support.

Ambulance Wish Queensland is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, and we thank the staff and volunteers at both Queensland Health and Queensland Ambulance Service who help our Palliative Care Queensland team to fulfil wishes and create memories forever.
