Robin’s wish was to watch his old team play at the Aspley Ten Pin Bowls Club
With memories of having won the 2022 Friday Night League Championship with his cousin Matty, Robin was warmly welcomed back to watch the competition at Aspley Ten Pin Bowls Club having not being able to continue his beloved sport due to illness. As he arrived wearing his personalised bowling shirt, adorned with his collection of bowling pins, it was clear that Robin was back in his element surrounded by his cousins Kaye and Matty, extended family Kenny and Raj, and many friends including Rick and Judy to reminisce about old times and watch his former bowling partner Matty play with his new team member.
For this special occasion Matty renamed his team to their former winning team name “Up in Smoke” and as Robin cheered them on it was clear that the cousins share a special bond. Matty bowled a 197 on the night, well above his average of 167, which he largely attributed to Robin’s presence and support. At the end of the night Robin was awarded a Bowling Pin signed by everyone in attendance and exited through a guard of honour from his friends and former competitors.
Thank you to our wonderful wish team Jess, Tim, Grace and Susan for fulfilling this last wish and for creating memories forever for Robin and his loved ones.
Thank you to our service partner Metro North Health Community Palliative Care Service and the support of Aspley Ten Pin Bowl on this special occasion.
