Rik’s wish was to visit his home and see his motorbikes

Rik, a seasoned motorbike racer, had a heartfelt wish to visit his home and see his treasured motorbikes one last time. Born in Germany, Rik had begun racing bikes at the age of 15 and competed fearlessly in the Enduro motorcycle competitions winning the Northern German Enduro motorbike championship in the 50ccm class at aged 16 and 17 years.

With the support of his loving wife Eiko, his sister Jeanette, and his neighbours Peter and Rae, Rik embarked on a journey to fulfill his last wish. As they arrived at his home, memories flooded back, filling him with nostalgia and excitement. As Rik was taken into the garage, his eyes gleamed with joy as he laid eyes on his two favourite motorcycles, his red Ducati and trusty Triumph. Rik’s heart swelled with pride, reminiscing about the thrilling races and triumphant memories the bikes evoked.

Rik watched on with a glimmer of anticipation, as his neighbour Peter kicked the bikes into life, their powerful sounds resonating with his racing spirit. The familiar vibrations sent shivers down his spine, reminding him of the exhilarating moments he had experienced on these two-wheeled machines.

Although Rik was no longer able to ride, his spirit soared as he watched motorbike racing on TV, feeling connected to the world he cherished. In that precious moment, surrounded by loved ones who understood his deep connection to the sport, Rik found profound comfort and joy.
