PCQ launches new program – Ambulance Wish Queensland
Betty Dowsett is 92 and in palliative care but today her smile lit up Brisbane when she became the first recipient of our new program – Ambulance Wish Queensland.
It was such a privilege to spend time with this lovely lady who not only charmed the two paramedics – Darren Lawrence and Innes Askew – who volunteered to care for her, but also had Queensland Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Steven Miles sharing his ice cream with her.
AWQ is an ‘Australian first’ helping to fulfil the last wishes of terminally ill people.
We need volunteers – paramedics, nurses, doctors, drivers – to help us provide this amazing program and donors to help us fund the wishes.
