Paul’s Wish was to go for a ride in a helicopter
For Armed Forces Veteran Paul, there was one bucket list item that he never ticked off in his time in the military – a flight in a helicopter, something he never had the opportunity to do during his many years of service to his country. Today was the day that ticked off a dream and created memories forever for Paul and his brother Mark as the pair took to the skies over the Gold Coast, taking in the breathtaking views on an adventure of a lifetime.
Taking pride of place next to the pilot, Paul was all smiles as the pair took to the skies ascending above the beautiful Broadwater for 10 minutes that will be cemented in the brothers’ memories forever. For Mark, the joy was plain to see as he saw his brother, who he affectionately calls ‘Knucklehead’ fulfill an ambition that had been close to his heart for a long time.
Thank you to Mark, Kristy, Kris and Marnie who delivered Paul’s Wish in partnership with Gold Coast HHS- Robina Palliative Care Service and in collaboration with Hopewell Hospice. Thank you to Sea World Helicopters and Ange Costes Photography for their support.
Ambulance Wish Queensland is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, and we thank the staff and volunteers at both Queensland Health and Queensland Ambulance Service who help our Palliative Care Queensland team to fulfil wishes and create memories forever.
