GQS Extends Support for Ambulance Wish Queensland Program in 2023-2024
In a heart warming commitment to continue making wishes come true for individuals facing life-limiting illnesses, GQS is delighted to announce the extension of its ongoing sponsorship for the Ambulance Wish Queensland Program for the 2023-2024 year. The news was shared by GQS’s Director, Zac Gleeson, who expressed his deep enthusiasm and motivation for supporting this not-for-profit organisation.
GQS, a prominent local business with strong ties to the community, has been an ardent supporter of the Ambulance Wish Qld Program and has witnessed the profound impact the program has on individuals facing end-of-life. In the past year alone, their partnership has enabled more than 40 wishes to be fulfilled in the Sunshine Coast, Southeast Queensland, and Gold Coast region.
Mr. Gleeson spoke passionately about the motivation behind GQS’s continued support for Ambulance Wish Queensland: “We wanted to support a cause that was in line with our values and supports the communities that we work in and call home. Ambulance Wish Queensland is a cause that is close to our hearts because we can see the power that the program has and the impacts it makes on people’s lives through fulfilling a last wish”.
He further emphasized the personal connection his team has developed with the program, stating, “Having now witnessed first hand a wish, it only cemented to me the unbelievable work the program is doing. We know that we will be able to continue to make a positive impact on the lives of every Wish Recipient and their family and friends. We are thrilled that the program will continue to go from strength to strength, fulfilling more wishes for more Queenslanders than ever”.
When asked what it means to him and his team to support last wishes being fulfilled, Mr. Gleeson explained, “We are at a stage in life where each of us is experiencing our parents, grandparents, friends, and colleagues approaching their end of life, and we are more aware than ever of the importance of creating opportunities for people to connect with the people, places, and activities that matter most.”
He highlighted the simplicity and significance of the wishes granted by the program, saying, “What we love most about Ambulance Wish Queensland is that wishes are simple. It isn’t about meeting a celebrity or skydiving for the first time; it is about visiting home for a final time, spending time with much-loved pets, or spending a day at the zoo with people that matter most in your life. When you think about it, throughout our lives, it is the simple things that matter the most and create the memories that last forever for loved ones.”
In closing, Mr. Gleeson encouraged other organisations to join in supporting the Ambulance wish Queensland Program, stating, “I would strongly encourage any corporate bodies to support the program and am happy to field any queries from interested parties. It’s easy to see where the sponsorship money is going, and the whole team is amazing to deal with.”
He also noted the additional benefits of supporting the program, including opportunities for networking and increased visibility through social media outreach.
As GQS reaffirms its commitment to making a difference in the lives of Queenslanders facing a life-limiting illness, the Ambulance Wish Queensland Program can continue its vital work, bringing comfort, joy and cherished moments to those who need it most.
