Fundraising Gala Dinner Wrap-up
In a room filled with love, joy, reflection and emotion, we shared laughter and tears as we celebrated the people and organisations who have helped Ambulance Wish Queensland fulfil over 30 wishes for Queenslanders in palliative care. From enjoying fish and chips by the ocean to returning home for a cup of tea with family and friends, each wish is unique and creates moments of joy and memories that last forever.
So, the only way we can sum up our inaugural Ambulance Wish Queensland Gala Dinner is with one simple phrase; Thank you!
Thank you to Health Minister, Hon Yvette D’Ath, Queensland Health and Queensland Ambulance Service for announcing a second decommissioned Ambulance is to be donated to the program to help expand our service into North Queensland. With your support, we can fulfil more wishes for more Queenslanders than ever before.
Thank you to our wish families, volunteers and service partners who shared their stories, opened their hearts, and highlighted the importance wishes play for recipients, their families and the vital role that a wish plays in care and dying well. Without your experiences, we could not understand the power and meaning of a wish.
Thank you to our event supporters Gold Sponsors SoftMed, Bronze Sponsors Envisage Technologies, One Global Logistics, The Verve Lounge, First National Cleveland, Hello Lola, United Workers Union and Digital Synergy. Without your support, the Gala could not have happened.

Thank you to our MCs Marg Adams and John Haberecht, comedian Caroline Mandersloot, The Photo Booth and The Red Tie Band who entertained us, gave us tears of laughter and helped us create our own memories of the night and to dance the night away. Thank you to Ange Costes Photography for capturing the evening providing wonderful images that will become our forever memories. And a special mention to the remarkable Dale Mansfield, winner of the inaugural 2021 Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year Award.
Thank you to our Ambulance Wish Team, our event volunteers and Palliative Care Queensland Team who worked tirelessly to organise the Gala. Without you, over 220 guests could not have joined us to celebrate Ambulance Wish Queensland and raise funds to expand our program.
And last, but by no means least, thank you to everyone who attended the Gala. We are eternally grateful for your generosity, support, and commitment to Ambulance Wish Queensland. From purchasing tickets, bidding on auctions, supporting our raffle and donating to our cause, you have helped us to raise over $52,500. We thank you. Future wish recipients and their families thank you for the moments of joy you will bring to their lives and the memories that will be created that will last a lifetime.
