To celebrate National Palliative Week, Ambulance Wish Queensland and the Metro South team put on an afternoon tea for palliative patients complete with a petting zoo and live music.
Ambulance Wish Queensland brought a magical afternoon to palliative care patients, families and staff at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, holding its 3rd Annual ‘Mega Wish’ celebration during this year’s National Palliative Care Week.
Despite a rainy day, spirits were high as patients and staff cuddled with baby animals, enjoyed delicious food and took in some live music.
Ambulance Wish Queensland extends our sincere gratitude to:
🧡 Our service partner Metro South Palliative Care Service, Princess Alexandra Hospital, the PA Research Foundation and especially CNC Angela Lane for helping bring the afternoon together
🧡 Old Macdonald’s Travelling Farms for allowing the patients and staff to cuddle with baby goats, sheep, chickens and ducks
🧡 Nic from St John Events and Entertainment, who provided the perfect music vibe for the afternoon
Thank you to our wonderful volunteer Emily and the PCQ staff for helping to fulfil this celebration.
Ambulance Wish Queensland is the signature program of Palliative Care Queensland and is proudly supported by the Queensland Government. We thank the staff and volunteers at both Queensland Health and Queensland Ambulance Service who help our team to fulfil wishes and create memories.
We would also like to thank our Foundation Sponsors, GQS and Mingary Care , for their sponsorship of Ambulance Wish Queensland
