Shane’s Wish was to attend his nephews 18 Birthday.
A night to remember. Shane’s Wish was to attend his nephew’s 18th birthday.
It was one of those nights where everything just felt magical. The perfect blend of family, occasion, joy, and memories (and a couple of bourbons).
Shane was surrounded by his loved ones, who were all so grateful that he could be present for such a special family occasion.
As it came time to leave, his family lined up and created a path for Shane to pass through – clapping and cheering him on his way.
Once back in the ambulance, he just kept saying to our Wish team, “how special was that?”
A night that he didn’t want to end.
Thank you to our wonderful wish team Sue Neale, David, Tara and Sue for fulfilling this last wish and for creating memories forever for Shane and his loved ones.
Thank you to our specialist palliative care service partner Metro North Hospital and Health Service- Community Palliative Care Team on this special occasion.
Ambulance Wish Queensland is the signature program of Palliative Care Queensland and is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, and we thank the staff and volunteers at both Queensland Health and Queensland Ambulance Service who help our team to fulfil wishes and create memories.
We would also like to thank our Foundation Sponsors GQS and Mingary Care for their sponsorship of Ambulance Wish Queensland
