Russell’s Wish was to watch the Brisbane Broncos play surrounded by his family
Russel’s wish was to watch his favourite NRL team, the Brisbane Broncos play at Suncorp Stadium with his family. However when Russell become unable to travel the Ambulance Wish Team worked with The Prince Charles Palliative Care Unit to ensure that Russell was able to see his team play.
Surrounded by his family and friends Russel was able to watch as the Brisbane Broncos took on the Gold Coast Titians and while the Broncos may not have prevailed on the day that did not in any way dampen the joyous mood experienced by all.
Russell wore his new Broncos cap which came as part of a bag of goodies fit for a true Broncos fan including a poster signed by Adam Reynolds and a football signed by coach Kevin Walters.
Thank you to our wonderful wish team Tara and Susan fulfilling this last wish and for creating memories forever for their loved ones.
Thank you to our service partner Metro North Hospital and Health Service, The Prince Charles Hospital Palliative Care Unit and the Brisbane Broncos for their support of this occasion.
Ambulance Wish Queensland is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, and we thank the staff and volunteers at both Queensland Health and Queensland Ambulance Service who help our Palliative Care Queensland team to fulfil wishes and create memories.
We would also like to thank our SEQ Hub Local Supporting partners Mingary Care and GQS for their support of Ambulance Wish Queensland’s South-East Queensland Hub.
