Phillip’s Wish was to visit the Broadwater parklands and have fish and chips

A Wish that saw the sunlight peer through on a rainy morning. This week, Phil wanted to visit the Broadwater Parklands and have fish and chips for lunch.

Outside his hospital room, Phil wanted to soak in the sun. Although it had been raining all week and all morning, the skies seemed to part for the couple of hours Phil was here.

That was all what was needed. Down on the Broadwater jetty with Surfers Paradise as his backdrop, Phil and his wife watched as Kingfishers flew past, as well as a few jetboats and helicopters, enjoying the time spent together.

A wonderful lunch of cod and crumbed prawns from the iconic The Fish Shak finished the afternoon. Returning home with memories that will last forever.

Thank you to our wonderful wish team Kristy, Cameron, and Deb for fulfilling this last wish and for creating memories forever for Phil and his wife.

Thank you to our service partner Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service – Robina Hospital Specialist Palliative Care Unit on this special occasion.
