Nancy’s wish was to meet her favourite NRL team the Brisbane Broncos

Like many Queenslanders’, Nancy is a proud and passionate Bronco’s supporter, having supported the club since their entry into the NRL in 1988. Her excitement was visible for all to see when she was able to meet the Broncos players and coaching staff, at the wonderful Clive Berghofer Centre in Red Hill, joined by her family, daughter Karen, brother Richard and brother-in-Josh. Sister in-law Kerry and niece Jamie-Lee were unable to attend.

Wearing her finest Broncos shirt and her nails painted in her team colours, she watched the players train, giving them some words of wisdom by telling them they’ve got this season in the bag, and she expects to see them in the finals. Nancy was then treated to a behind the scenes tour of the club before meeting the CEO and telling him what a great job he was doing.

Nancy was given a delightful bag of goodies which were greatly appreciated by the hardcore fan, including a jersey signed by the team. In her element, glowing and ecstatic with each player that came to give her a hug, when asked by Clinical Nurse Escort Carrie-Ann “Is it what you expected it to be?”, Nancy replied through happy tears “It is so much more”.

To top off her experience she was handed a beautiful bunch of yellow flowers by her number one favourite player, Adam Reynolds, which turned her happy tears into a smile and a memory that will last forever.
