Merilyn’s Wish was for a morning with friends and family at Wellington Point
A gathering of friends, family and a last-minute decision to renew vows. Merilyn’s Wish was for a morning down by Wellington Point.
A favourite spot of hers, Wellington Point is more than just a perfect picnic destination, it’s where memories were made and, on this day, a very special memory was created.
The weekend before, Merilyn decided that she would like to renew vows with her husband, Ian. With beautifully curated vows, Merilyn and Ian reinforced the love and bond they have with each other. An incredible moment for the lovebirds.
This moment was immediately followed by wading through the water in the beach wheelchair. Feeling the salt water on her skin and the sea breeze was only second to the vow renewal.
A joyous and eventful morning.
Thank you to our wonderful wish team Sophie, Maddi and Jo for fulfilling this last wish and for creating memories forever for Merilyn and her loved ones.
Thank you to our service partner Metro South Hospital and Health Service – Wynnum Manly Palliative Care Unit and the support of Australian Lifeguard Service on this special occasion.
Ambulance Wish Queensland is the signature program of Palliative Care Queensland and is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, and we thank the staff and volunteers at both Queensland Health and Queensland Ambulance Service who help our team to fulfil wishes and create memories.
