Melissa’s wish was to spend time with family and friends in the sunshine along the Sandgate shorefront
Spending time with the people you love is central to our lives. The connections, shared memories, companionship and love are at the heart of family and friendship, and this is certainly true for Melissa, who Wished to spend a wonderful day in the company of those nearest and dearest to her. So, on a Brisbane summer day, Ambulance Wish Queensland was thrilled to be able to have created memories forever for Melissa with a visit to the stunning Sandgate foreshore. The foreshore is a special place for Melissa, holding many memories of good times and celebrations as the pier was where she and her husband Richard had their wedding photos taken.
Transformed with balloons, garlands and streamers, over 40 of Melissa’s friends and family joined her for her Wish. Mum Margaret, husband Richard, children Jackson, Cody with partner Bec, Travis with partner Ebony, grand-daughter Lily and brother Tony along with family and childhood friends were all in attendance. Colleagues from Typo stores across Queensland who made the journey to be part of the Wish for a special person who was is clearly loved and treasured by all who know her were also in attendance. And as of course joining the day were Melissa’s beloved pooches Luna and Nelson.
“I can’t believe how many people are here. This is just beautiful,” said Melissa. And it was. Family, friends, colleagues and beloved pets all came together to spend time with Melissa and create memories that will last forever.
