Katie Rose Cottage Hospice Partners with Ambulance Wish Queensland
A special welcome to Katie Rose Cottage Hospice, a Hospice that has partnered with Palliative Care Queensland through its signature program Ambulance Wish Queensland.
The partnership will see greater investment in the fulfilment of final wishes for people with life limiting illnesses in Queensland.
Katie Rose Cottage Hospice Chief Executive Officer John Gabrielson said that many guests who come to Katie Rose are still keen to engage with the community.
“They (our visitors) still have the energy, the will and the desire to get out and about, visiting a favourite nearby place (river, beach, café) or engaging in a special experience.”
“Until Ambulance Wish Queensland arrived, we as a team could not really help them fulfil these dreams. At a level there was always a sense of disappointment for us that we could not deliver a last wish. Now we can.”
John highlighted that, as the newest palliative care partner, he has a sense of fulfilment knowing that Ambulance Wish Queensland will assist in achieving their guest’s ‘wildest dreams’ and creating new memories for loved ones; all of whom, he believes, would not be more thankful.
Louise O’Neill, CEO of Palliative Care QLD, thanked Katie Rose for their partnership.
“With Katie Rose joining us, we can now fulfill more wishes to more of their guests, enhance their end-of-life journey and create everlasting memories for their loved ones.”
“As Ambulance Wish continues to expand across Queensland, we take great pride in knowing that each wish will be personally curated with each individual in mind. These experiences create a world of love, joy, and positivity for everyone involved.”
