Jeanette’s wish was to watch the sunset at Pallarenda Beach, Townsville
There is something magical about a Queensland sunset as the glorious reds, oranges, and yellows transform the landscape and create a stunning backdrop to any activity. And for Jeanette, watching the sunset at Townsville’s Pallarenda Beach surrounded by her loved ones was her Ambulance Wish.
After several days of rain, where the clouds obscured North Queensland’s natural beauty, it is almost as if mother nature had saved her most spectacular sunset for Jeanette’s Wish as she was joined by husband Greg, daughter Helen, son-in-law Ben and grandson Santiago for a spectacular show of natural beauty.
As Santiago ran around the beach, living life to the full, Jeanette’s smile was perhaps the only sight that could outdo the sunset, and when her grandson wrote her name in the sand, you could even argue that the sun went down a little quicker than normal, knowing it could not compete. With the family enjoying a moment of normality, connection, love and joy, Ambulance Wish Queensland was delighted to have played a part in creating memories forever for Jeanette and her loved ones on Palleranda Beach’s golden sands.
Thank you to our wonderful wish team Lauren, Michelle, Courtney and Susan for fulling this last wish and creating memories forever.
Thank you to Townville University Hospital Palliative Care Service for partnering with us on this special occasion to fulfil Jeanette’s wish and Josephine Carter Photography for their support.
Ambulance Wish Queensland is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, and we thank the staff and volunteers at both Queensland Health and Queensland Ambulance Service who help our Palliative Care Queensland team to fulfil wishes and create memories.
