Ipswich Hospice to make Wishes come true for Palliative Care Patients

Palliative Care Queensland is excited to announce that Ipswich Hospice Care is our newest Ambulance Wish Queensland service partner.

This means that patients who are receiving care in Ipswich Hospice and meet the eligibility criteria for the Ambulance Wish Queensland program can have an onsite or offsite Wish Request.

René Adams, CEO of Ipswich Hospice, welcomed the Hospice’s partnership with Ambulance Wish Queensland, “We are delighted to become a service partner for Ambulance Wish Queensland.”

“At Ipswich Hospice Care, we support our guests to live life to the full, right until the end.  We, therefore, do all we can to facilitate choice, dignity and experiences that enrich the quality of life of those under our care and those dearest to them, and create special moments and memories. Ambulance Wish Queensland is the perfect partner to support our desire to provide our patients with the best possible care and we recognise and support the difference that having a wish fulfilled makes to the quality of life and experiences of people suffering from terminal illnesses.”

“We also appreciate and value the simplicity of the wishes as they focus on things that matter to patients most; connecting with family, visiting country, enjoying cuddles with much-loved pets or being able to spend time at home. When I THINK ABOUT MY Ambulance Wish, I too would seek simplicity and serenity, so for me, I would wish to take a trip to the beach at sunset and watch the colours of the evening give way to night over the ocean.”

Louise O’Neill, Palliative Care Queensland’s CEO, welcomed Ipswich Hospice Care joining as a Service Partner, “It is wonderful to welcome Ipswich Hospice as a service partner. As our program grows and fulfils more wishes for Queenslanders than ever before, we are thankful for the support of organisations like Ipswich Hospice. Our newest partnership will increase the number of local residents that Ambulance Wish Queensland can connect to across the Ipswich Region. We now have three Service Partners in the region being Ipswich Hospice, Ipswich Nurses and West Moreton Hospital and Health Service. It shows what a truly compassionate community the Ipswich region is providing access to the program and opportunities to have these final wishes come true,” said Louise.
