Fi’s Wish Was to Visit Rocks Riverside Park with her daughter and two grandsons

For many Brisbane families, memories forever have been created at Rocks Riverside Park and for our latest Wish recipient Fi and her family that is certainly the case.

Visiting the park for the first time over 16 years ago for a family picnic and running races in which, they explored every inch of the park, it was Ambulance Wish Queensland’s pleasure to take the family back to the park for a magical family picnic on a bright, blue-skied winter Brisbane afternoon.

Joined by her daughter Rebecca and grandsons Noah and Isaiah, the family enjoyed time exploring the parklands, sharing a gourmet picnic lunch, and capturing the day with some wonderful family photos. Initially helpful in keeping the winter chill at bay, Fi quickly fell in love with her Wish Quilt giving it pride of place on her bed. Thank you to the St Mark’s Craft Boyne Island Gladstone members for making Fi’s beautiful quilt. Accompanying the family’s every move was a lovable little fellow named Kee’s, Fi’s Wish Bear, who quickly became an inseparable companion. As the family enjoyed their special day, it was clear from Fi’s reaction that, like 16 years ago, memories forever were created today.

This Wish was particularly special for Ambulance Wish Queensland because Fi spent her career as a member of the state’s community of care, retiring only last year from her role of many years as a nurse at Canossa Private Hospital.
