Donald’s wish was to visit his son’s property
For Donald, his greatest joys have always been found in family, community and the land. That’s why, for his wish, he wanted to visit his son’s property and see the progress of the farm firsthand.
Surrounded by family, fresh country air and the sights of a working farm, Donald could not have been prouder, even taking the AWQ team for a tour of the surroundings, making sure everyone stopped to admire the calves and meet the family dog along the way.
A lifelong contributor to Toowoomba’s agricultural community, Donald spent years farming sheep, wheat and cattle, and served on wheat and grain boards across Queensland. His passion for farming and rural life remains as strong as ever.
The day also provided an opportunity for Donald to share some of the wisdom he has gathered throughout his life. In his personal memoir, he provides 15 life lessons, some of which he shared with the team along with a heartfelt speech about life, lessons and family.
Thank you to our wonderful wish team Brit, Sandy and Sue for fulfilling this last wish and creating memories forever for their loved ones.
