Des’s wish was to have a picnic in the park overlooking Bramble Bay with his family and friends

Des’s wish was simple: to have a picnic in the park overlooking Bramble Bay with his family and friends. It was a wish that had taken root decades ago, back in 1960 when Des first set foot in Australia and fell head over heels in love with the serene beauty of the bay. Those early days saw him strolling down to the park during his lunch breaks, a humble sandwich in hand, and a book as his faithful companion.  The calm waters of Bramble Bay provided the perfect backdrop as he lost himself in the pages, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

But it was not just solitude that Des sought by the bay, there were also many cherished memories of bringing his family to this very spot, where laughter filled the air, and the simple joys of life were celebrated like playing ball and sharing stories. Des’s passion extended beyond the bay, as he dedicated over two decades to the local gem club, earning a well-deserved life membership. His family, friends, and the dazzling world of jewellery were precious to him which was why for his wish he wanted to return to the spot that had a deep meaning for him and enjoy a picnic surrounded by his friends and family.
