Christine’s Wish was to visit her home to spend time with her family and friends
We all know that home is where the heart is and for Christine that is certainly true, with an important part of her life being those special family get-togethers and reunions that make a house a home. So, for Ambulance Wish Queensland it was our pleasure to fulfil Christine’s Wish to visit her home and spend time with her beautiful family, especially as their last get-together was in September 2020.
Before Christine’s arrival in our Wish Ambulance, her family had been hard at work, adorning the home with pink streamers and balloons that turned the family garage into the ultimate family party space. They had also been busy in the kitchen, creating sumptuous sandwiches, cakes, pastries, and an epic almond slice that had everyone’s mouths watering.
A smile lit up Christine’s face as she saw the crowd of loved ones and well-wishers all keen to spend time with her and create memories forever. Joining her for her wish were, sister Dee with partner Gary and sons Sean, Robbie, Dave and brother Kevin. Also in attendance to celebrate with their mother were daughters Clare and Emma and son Glen along with Christine’s grandchildren Sophie, Tristen and Charlie.
The best moment of the day, of which there were many, had to be the sight of Christine singing and bopping along in her chair to her nephew Robbie playing his guitar as the family sang in unison to Amazing Grace, I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston and one of their all-time favourites My Ding-a-ling.
