Brian’s wish was to go to Australia Zoo with his family
Brian’s wish was to have a family day out, and what better place to do it than at Australia Zoo.
Years ago, Brian met Steve Irwin while supplying the materials that helped build many of the zoo’s animal enclosures. This wish meant that he could see the spaces he once helped create, this time not as a businessman, but as a proud admirer sharing the moment with his family.
A lot of Brian’s family was there with him, from children to great-grandchildren, exploring the zoo with immense joy. Along with the popularity of zebras, giraffes, and rhinos, Brian’s wheelchair was one of the main attractions for the great-grandkids, offering free rides to each enclosure.
With the help of volunteers and the Australia Zoo team, Brian had a giraffe feeding experience and got up close and personal with the Wildlife Warriors show at the Crocoseum.
After a full day of memory-making and family fun, Brian wrapped it up just the way he wanted: a meat pie and a Coke for lunch.
Thank you to our wonderful wish team Sophie, Hayley, Elizabeth and Alison for fulfilling this last wish and Adore You Photography for creating memories forever for Brian’s loved ones.
Thank you to our service partner Sunshine Coast Community Palliative Care Team in collaboration with Cittamani Hospice Service and the support of Australia Zo on this special occasion.
