Bev’s wish was to see the Brisbane Lions play St Kilda at the Gabba
Beverly, affectionately known as Bev, has always been a die-hard fan of the Brisbane Lions. With a strong passion for the sport, Bev has never missed a game and considers footy to be her life. So, with the help of the volunteers at Ambulance Wish Queensland, Bev, dressed in her Lions’ colours, was able to witness the mighty Lions’ triumph over St. Kilda at the Gabba.
Accompanied by her son Craig, who shares her love of the game, and her best friend Kay, with whom it has been a cherished tradition to attend every game, Bev couldn’t help but feel a surge of emotion. The smell of hot chips with tomato sauce filled the air, creating anticipation around the time of kick off.
Their seats provided the perfect vantage point to witness the Lions put on a solid performance, displaying their skills and determination on the field, with much encouragement from Bev. The cheers from the crowd echoed the cheers from Bev, as the Lions emerged victorious over St Kilda, with 72 points to 60 score. The joy on Bev’s face was undeniable as she hugged her son and best friend, celebrating the win whilst enjoying a little bit of normalcy.
