Vicki’s wish was to have fish and chips at Sandgate with her family
Fish and chips by the water at Sandgate, Vicki’s perfect wish.
A beautiful day down by the water’s edge, the salty sea air bringing a real sense of freedom for Vicki. Surrounded by her family, she made the most of this time, sharing stories with our wish team and reminiscing favourite memories of her time here with her family.
A special moment for Vicki and her grandchildren came when they climbed into the back of the Wish Ambulance and took turns using a stethoscope to listen to her heartbeat. There was something so special about this. What began as an act of curiosity became a moment of connection so pure, it will stay with them throughout their lives.
The fish and chips had never tasted so good, you couldn’t wipe smiles away. The perfect afternoon for Vicki.
Thank you to our wonderful wish team Emily, Courtny, Bern and Pooja for fulfilling this last wish and John Bradburry Photography for creating memories forever for Vicki’s loved ones.
Thank you to our service partner Metro North Hospital and Health Service – The Prince Charles Hospital Palliative Care Unit on this special occasion.
