A wish beyond his wildest dreams. Meet Greg, whose wish was to go to the Red Hot Summer Tour at Queens Park, Toowoomba.
With the incredible generosity of Josh from the Red Hot Summer Tour, Greg, alongside his carer and brother, were given backstage access to an experience they’ll never forget.
Not even the threat of rain could stop the magic from unfolding. Greg was brought backstage before settling into front row seats, right inside the barrier, for The Waifs and Mark Seymour – two of Greg’s favourites and regular listens. Greg was smiling, singing along and even letting out some double handed whistles to accompany the applause.
This was just the start of an extraordinary afternoon. Josh not only gifted him a special merchandise pack from the concert, but he went even further, organising a private meet and greet with Crowded House.
In their dressing room, they shared a special jam session with Greg, singing Weather With You. A cult classic just for Greg. It was at this moment that he quietly shared, “All my Christmases have come at once.”
Later, the MC came out on stage and spoke about Greg, how he was a massive fan and that he attended every Red Hot Summer Tour that came to Toowoomba. The crowd cheered for him. A tribute to a man who loves his concerts.
We could not be more grateful to Josh from Red Hot Summer Tour, Face to Face Touring and QFE Events. It’s this compassion that made a community come together and made something really special for Greg.
