Jamie’s Wish was to visit Point Perry with a surprise visit to the Queensland Maroons
It was shakas all round when ocean-loving Jamie returned to his favourite surf break at Coolum – Point Perry.
From atop the lookout, Jamie and the Wish team spotted a number of turtles, seabirds and even Jamie’s home.
Jamie moved to the coast from Brisbane having fallen in love with the area after his family would visit on holidays. He spent 10 years in Mudjimba before settling in Coolum for the past four and a half years with his three-metre pet python.
Always looking for the next big break, Jamie could be found catching waves when the swell was up. On calmer days though, he was still at the beach, snorkelling around the rocky headland below the lookout or enjoying rock fishing with his father.
Aside from surfing, Jamie’s a Queenslander through and through. He loves the Brisbane Broncos and Queensland Maroons. You wouldn’t believe his luck – on the way home, the Wish team saw the Maroons finishing up their training camp. A quick detour resulted in a magical meet and greet with some of NRL’s greatest stars.
Jamie remarked on several occasions how he appreciated this opportunity to leave the hospital for the day, enjoying the wind, sun and sound of the waves.
A super swell day
