Marie’s Wish was to watch ballroom dancing
A dance to the memories of her younger years. Marie’s Wish was to watch ballroom dancing.
Growing up as a dancer, Marie would often spend her time watching ballroom dancing videos and listening to the music of her era whilst in the care of The Good Shepherd Home. Today though, the ballroom dancing came to her.
Geoff and Dee from Experience Dance Townsville, were exceptionally generous – offering to dance at home so Marie didn’t have to travel.
Dee showed Marie her exquisitely beautiful dress and Marie was mesmerised watching the dress flow and glitter during the beautifully choreographed dances. Geoff and Dee danced beautifully under the twinkle of the lights set up in the hall. Marie’s’ great granddaughter Magnolia joined in the dancing too!
Four generations of family, friends, staff, volunteers plus visiting health professionals and students were engrossed in the many dances performed. Marie was so overwhelmed with joy with each new dance and seeing people from her past and her present.
Marie’s memories of the years of her dancing bring her great joy and this Wish was no exception. An especially beautiful Wish.
