Mater Private Hospital Townsville partners with Ambulance Wish Queensland
Palliative Care Queensland is excited to announce that Mater Private Hospital Townsville has become the newest Ambulance Wish Queensland service partner. This means that patients who are receiving specialist palliative care in Mater Private Hospital Townsville and meet the eligibility criteria for the Ambulance Wish Queensland program, can have an onsite or offsite wish fulfilled.
Mater Private Hospital Townsville Assistant Director of Clinical Services – Patient Care, Talissha Wagner and Quality & Safety Manager – Marissa Dodds, feels a real connection with Ambulance Wish Queensland.
‘Collaborating with Ambulance Wish Queensland means we can assist our patients that want to have experiences outside of a hospital.’
‘The impact of wishes will be unmeasurable and will have a long-lasting memory for families and loved ones.’
‘To see the smiles on the patients for those that have had their wish fulfilled is priceless.’
Wishes are often simple; a trip to the beach with family, going to rest at home one last time or to a place of personal significance.
PCQ CEO Louise O’Neill is thrilled with the new partnership. ‘We are excited to be expanding the program in Townsville allowing Palliative Care Queensland’s Ambulance Wish Queensland program to fulfil more wishes to those living with a life-limiting illness in Townsville and surrounding regions, whilst creating memories forever for their loved ones.’
