Barry’s wish is to go Fishing and spend some time with his family.
They say, the best things in life are the people we love, the places we’ve been, and the memories we’ve made along the way, and for Barry, returning to Deep Water Bend Reserve to spend time with his family and friends, evoked fond traditions and memories spanning a lifetime.
As one of seven children, Barry first began fishing at Deep Water Bend Reserve when he was a young boy with his parents, which seamlessly became a tradition that Barry continued with his own children. While the area has certainly changed since Barry first began visiting as a young boy, it is still a place of comfort, as familiar memories came flooding back for him and his family.
As Barry cast a line and sat at the waters edge, he was surrounded by his partner Robyn, Son Allan, Robyns’s daughters, Jess and Julia and his family and friends.
Thank you to our wonderful wish volunteers Kristy, Emilia and Elena for fulfilling this last wish and Ange Costes Photography for creating memories forever for their loved ones.
Thank you to the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital for partnering with us on this special occasion for Barry’s Wish.
