Usha’s Wish was to visit Mooloolaba Beach and spend time with her family
Usha’s final wish took her back to the shores of Mooloolaba Beach, a place that holds an unbreakable bond with her heart. Having visited countless times before, the beach is more than just a destination for Usha; it is a place of laughter, love, and togetherness. Supported by a beach wheelchair, Usha dipped her toes into the sand and gentle waves, rekindling her connection to this special place.
Surrounded by her family, Mum Nalini and Dad Madhu, sister Sandy, brother Ramesh and niece and nephew Tarsala and Arridan, stories were shared, and memories created. Fish and chips were a must and enjoyed by all whilst overlooking the beach on the esplanade. This was a perfect day that encapsulated a lifetime of love and connection, etching this final memory in their hearts forever and giving Ambulance wish Queensland the privilege of fulfilling its 100th wish.
Thank you to the Hon. Shannon Fentiman MP Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Services and Minister for Women, Mr Stephen Zsombok Deputy Commissioner QAS, Louise O’Neill CEO Palliative Care Queensland, Metro South Health Chief Operating Officer, Ms Paula Foley, A/Executive Director Logan and Beaudesert Health Service, Mr Brett Bricknell and Director Metro South Palliative Care Dr Arvind Gunasekaran, who paid a visit to Usha showing just how a community can rally around and support the fulfilment of an Ambulance Wish and Channel 7 News for capturing this beautiful occasion.
