Ursula’s wish was to visit her son at home
Adored by so many people. Ursula’s wish was to visit her son at home.
A celebrity among the Mater staff, Ursula is renowned for being an absolute sweetheart while also bringing just the right amount of cheekiness.
The day was highlighted by a special seafood lunch at her son’s home, a place that she once called her own, with prawns and Moreton Bay bugs as the main course. She even managed to enjoy a glass of brandy.
Ursula kept everyone entertained throughout the day with her stories and questions. There was the one about the tree out the front, another that had everyone laughing when she told the nurses and AWQ volunteers that she had a few spare dresses they could borrow to get out of uniform and join her for a trip to the pub.
It was wonderful to see Ursula so happy and carefree, enjoying every moment of a wish she so richly deserved.
Thank you to our wonderful wish team Amie, Jasmine and Anne for fulfilling this last wish and creating memories forever for their loved ones.
Thank you to our service partner Mater Private Hospital Townsville Palliative Care Unit for their support on this special occasion.
Ambulance Wish Queensland is the signature program of Palliative Care Queensland and is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, and we thank the staff and volunteers at both Queensland Health and Queensland Ambulance Service who help our team to fulfil wishes and create memories.
We would also like to thank our Townsville Hub Local Supporting Sponsor The Good Shepherd Home
