Metro North Health – Redcliffe Hospital Palliative Care Service: 2024 Fundraiser of the year

The Fundraiser of the Year Award acknowledges the extraordinary efforts of those who have made a significant impact on fundraising for Ambulance Wish Qld.

Over the years, the community has organised numerous fundraising events for the Ambulance Wish Queensland program, such as the Adventure Race Fundraiser, Shave for Ambulance Wish, Petaluma Push Containers for Change and Pimlico High School Music Concert Benefit. All of which demonstrate the spirit of a compassionate community coming together to raise funds for a program that fulfills final wishes for people with limiting-illness. With out these funds, we would not be able to keep offering the planning, coordination, specialist transport and clinical care needed to fulfil final wishes whilst making memories that will last a lifetime for family and friends.

We appreciate each and every one of the individual fundraisers who helped us generate money for the program this year.

The winner of this year’s award, Redcliffe Hospital Palliative Care Service is the one who has raised the most money. In 2021, they teamed up with Ambulance Wish Queensland, which provided them with the chance to fundraise for our program that has provided many memorable experiences for their patients and families. As a universal emblem in palliative care, the butterfly is central to their fundraising campaign. It has been a component of this service for many years, mostly as a little memento for their patients’ relatives where they can purchase a butterfly.

The collaboration between Redcliffe Hospital Palliative Care Service and Ambulance Wish Queensland has not only raised substantial funds but also fostered a deep sense of community and compassion. The funds raised have made a significant difference in the lives of patients and their families.

Thank you, Metro North Health, – Redcliffe Hospital Palliative Care Service for their unwavering dedication. Your efforts have brought hope and joy to many, and we look forward to continuing this journey together.
